[CLO] CJ Group recently appointed Mr.Lee Hyun Woo, a former regional director of Korea Express Busan office and Mr. Lee Kwan Hoon respectively as CEO of CJ Korea Express and CJ Corporation.
Mr.Lee Hyun Woo, a newly appointed CEO of CJ Korea Express stated his feelings in a telephone call after the inauguration held in a head office "The company will have more than half of sales abroad by exploring overseas market and expanding company network. We will pour our efforts into searching for major projects in the logistics field and discovering new business for the future."
Mr.Lee has got a PhD in logistics as a port specialist. Since joining Korea Express in 1983, he served as a director of TPL(Third Party Logistics) division and port transport business sector.
Mr.Lee Kwan Hoon, a new CEO of CJ Corporation also expressed his confidence saying "CJ certainly calls for Korea Express in the aspect of reinforcing logistics business, which is one of the CJ's main business items including food, biotechnology and entertainment etc."
He had the leading role last year in the process of bidding for acquisition of Korea Express. After a series of incidents caused by bidders, for instance 'participation of POSCO-Samsung SDS consortium' 'CJ's backlash against Samsung', the victory finally remained with CJ.
Mr.Lee is confident that newly merged company(CJ GLS+CJ Korea Express) will be able to become one of the world's top 5 logistics firms by 2020 with sales of 2 billion Won.
Particularly when he heard on the grapevine that there would be large scale shake-out in the process of merger between CJ GLS and Korea Express, he spoke so clearly "That's nonsense!"
He stressed "We aim to develop our company as global 3PL enterprise like DHL based on Korea Express' logistics infrastructure combined with capability of CJ GLS' supply chain management. More staff as well as their experience would be required in the course, which means that there wouldn't be any manpower restructuring."
